MAZAL BARRICA

Mazal Barrica

This wine has been made exclusively with grapes from the vineyards belonging to Vinaguarena, located on the banks of the Guareña river, a tributary of the famous Douro river. Alcoholic fermentation at a 24º controlled temperature . The skins stay with wine, after fermentation is finished, for at least 7 days. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank.

TASTING NOTES

Ripe cherry colour with purplish rim, clean and bright.
It is clean, intense and subtle, with a lot of wild fruit (raspberries, blackberries), pipe tobacco, toffee notes, with spicy, roasted and smoked notes. At the end, it is balsamic, with a background to “retama” and dry leaves, all well outfitted.
It displays a whole taste of medium structure. Vivid and expressive tannicity, juicy acidity, with the well exposed wood on fruity , liquorice and spicy background. Good persistence, expressive and open for a pleasant consumption at short term.
Ideal wine to drink along with cooked “tapas, red and white meat, pastas with sauces or salads, charcuterie in general, soft cheese or not very ripe, and mushrooms.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Tinta de Toro (relative of Tempranillo)
For at least 6 months in French and American medium roasted and fine grained oak casks.
